Super Donkey Kong, also known as Donkey Kong Country, is a retro platforming game from 1994 developed by Rare and published by Nintendo. It is basically a reboot of the Donkey Kong franchise and follows the adventures of Donkey Kong and his nephew, Diddy Kong. Join them in their quest to seek out the crocodile King K. Rool in order to recover the stolen bananas that they have been hoarding up. It won’t be an easy journey though, and the crocodile will throw his entire army, the Kremlings, right at you!

The core gameplay of Donkey Kong is pretty unique for a platforming game, especially back in the day. The basic controls for this game on this site are to use the arrow keys to move, the “X” button to jump, and the “S” button to roll or pick up objects. Players will find themselves journeying through up to 40 side-scrolling levels filled with all manner of platforms, enemies, and obstacles. You can collect the scattered bananas along the way, ride the minecarts and certain animals, and even find secret bonus stages. Remember to check every nook and cranny, especially when you see a stray banana just lying around at a specific spot.

You could play the multiplayer mode on the original game, however, that probably will not work if you are playing on this site (only single-player supported). So, for the most part, you will only be playing as Donkey Kong, who is strong and can defeat enemies quite easily. Relive some of the more iconic moments in retro gaming, such as getting blasted out of a barrel that is actually a cannon, and riding minecarts at high speeds in underground mines.

The level themes available in Super Donkey Kong are pretty diverse, ranging from jungles, underwater reefs, caves, mines, mountains, and even industrial factories. Graphics-wise, it is pretty solid back in the day competing with the best in the industry.
